Our 12-Step Professional Upholstery Cleaning Process

Step 1: Pre-inspection and Area Preparation

Together with you, the One of a Kind Pros™ technicians will inspect the furniture to be cleaned, and evaluate the expected results. We will answer any questions you may have. If there are any potential permanent stains or other areas of concern, the technicians will discuss them with you. One of a Kind Pros™ will determine what kind of material the upholstery is made of. This will help to determine what type of cleaning procedure and solutions will be applied. We will prepare the area where the upholstery will be cleaned, and any surrounding furnishings will be protected.

Step 2: Pre-vacuum

All fabrics, cushions, and insides of each piece of furniture to be cleaned will be vacuumed thoroughly before cleaning. This step will remove any dirt and/or pet hairs and debris on and around your upholstery.

Step 3: Pre-condition

Depending on your fabric type and its condition, an eco-friendly and safe solution will be applied to your upholstery to break down any stains, dirt, and pet urine. This will make the steam cleaning process (hot water extraction) method easier to flush out soils.

Step 4: Pre-spot

Stubborn spots such as matted-down areas, food and drink stains, markers, gum, and pet urine are treated with specific stain removers that help increase the chances of removal.

Step 5: Pre-groom

Your upholstery will then be groomed using soft electric brushes to agitate stains and help fibers stand strong — giving your couch, sectional, recliner, etc. the new furniture look.

Step 6: Steam Cleaning with Hot Water Extraction

This combination of hot water and cleaning agents being injected into the fibers of your sectional and other furniture lifts the soils and dirt — then removed by powerful truck-mounted vacuum. Our Sapphire upholstery tool is designed for powerful soil extraction and quick dry time.

Step 7: Neutralizing

Your upholstery is then pH balanced to have a like-new fresh feel.

Step 8: Post-spot

Any remaining spots will get extra treatment with special spot & stain removal products. To get the full investment out of your furniture and to prevent future spots, we recommend having our High-Quality Fabric Protector professionally applied to your furniture upholstery. This will help reduce permanent stains from future spills, and help diminish wear on your fabric.

Step 9: Post-groom

Your upholstery is detailed and groomed in the same direction to help with drying time — giving your furniture a beautiful look and feel.

Step 10: Speed Dry

High-Speed Air Movers are placed on your sectional immediately after cleaning to get your sectional fast dried. In most cases, your sectional will be dry when our technician leaves your home.

Step 11: Post-inspection

We will inspect the cleaning results to insure that everything looks its best after the drying process. If any touch ups are needed we will do them now before we are finished.

Step 12: Post-cleaning review with client

After we have completed all the steps, the One of a Kind Pros™ technician will review the cleaning results with you to insure that you are completely thrilled with the cleaning results.
